I agree with most of this Tweet, but I was particularly struck by the final paragraph. It points to the fundamental paradox of marketing. Marketing is a business and, with a few exceptions, is a mechanism for making money. Yet the audience/target/consumer of marketing has, on the whole, a very different objective. They want to simply enjoy life. As marketers, it is our continued task and duty to remember this. We mustn't confuse our money-making goals with the customers' goals. The two are very different.
